Disclaimer:
Online forums are only for people who are 13 or above. It does not matter if you believe yourself more mature than an average thirteen-year-old, this is something enforced by law. If you break it, you may bring repercussions on us who operate this forum. So if you are younger than 13 we ask that you please stop reading right now, and do not join. We do not want to be harsh, but we do wish to keep running this site. Please respect us and the law.
As many of us are on the older side of the roleplaying spectrum, our writing will be darker, grittier, more literate, and more literal. Our writing may contain darker themes and may include some triggers when it comes to violence. If something may be on the mature side, please make an effort to make the thread or post with an M warning.
HOWEVER we do not condone sexually explicit material in any way shape or form. In your roleplays please fade to black or take it to PMs if you feel its absolutely necessary. Anything pertaining to real life forms of this content will mean your account is immediately deleted, we do not have to warn you.
Respect
A major component of a well functioning site is respect. We ask that you respect not only the staff but your fellow roleplayers as well, so as to make this a healthy and friendly environment. Please try to resolve your conflicts over PM, and contact staff if necessary. Please keep it away from the cbox and threads.
Staff reserves the right to impose bans for any breaking of rules.
Activity
Try not to badger someone to post. Some people have busy lives and cannot often get to replies very quickly. Due to our liquid time system you have more freedom to start multiple threads, so if one is not going as fast as planned, feel free to start something else. You are allowed to PM them after a few weeks, but be sensitive, and try not to bother them after that.
That being said, be considerate to your fellow roleplayers. Do not take on too many threads or characters at a time if you cannot keep up with them, and if you plan on an extended hiatus beyond a few weeks, please let us know. Especially if you have a high position.
We will be holding activity checks every few months, just to make sure that we are able to get rid of any extra accounts that are not being used.
Also, any new accounts that have not made a post within two weeks will be deleted.
Roleplaying
As we are a literate roleplay, we have a minimum word count for posts of 150 words. That may seem like a lot at first, but keep in mind it is only a few paragraphs. If you would like help as to learn to improve your writing, we have mentoring (link) as well as a few guides (link) to help people when they are starting out.
You may only begin roleplaying with a character once their profile/biography has been accepted.
Please please please refrain from godmodding/powerplaying/metagaming inside your roleplays. If you are confused as to what this means, it involves directly controlling someone else's character, or forcing them to have to reply a certain way, this is not fair to your roleplaying partners, so please do not do it. At first you will be given a gentle warning, but if it continues to happen repeatedly you may be banned.
Time System
Unlike most sites, we have a different system regarding time in roleplay. There are set plot threads which will follow a set time line. These plot threads are essential to developing the plot, and thus you are only allowed to be in one of these at a time. Your character may move between these threads (so long as it is plausible), and if that happens you must indicate where you are going.
However we do realize how much this limits your ability to freely post without waiting for replies from others, that is why we also have a side system for minor, non-plot affecting threads. These can take place any time in the past, but must be clearly labeled. In the name of the thread you must include (LQ) to indicate liquid time, and then at the beginning you must have a timestamp, for organization purposes. The timestamp works in the following fashion:
Dawn-Morning-Sunhigh-Afternoon-Dusk etc./ Day 1-6 /New-waxing-full-waning moon/ 10 RTA (Moon it happened in, using either CIE or RTA, see history for more details)
While we realize this is still a bit limiting, this allows for deeper character development outside of the plot and for a freer situation for mentoring and building relationships.
As for when to age your characters, that will be decided through plot time, and may take a longer time than what many sites allow for. When a gathering happens, that will be the sign to age your characters one moon. It may be a bit frustrating when it comes to roleplaying kits and having kits between couples, but we will work through that as best we can.

Characters
These rules are the basic guidelines for characters, more in depth rules can be found here (link) with the basic biography format.
Do to the propensity for people creating certain types of cats, we will have bans on certain cats with disabilities, as well as non-clan or crossclan cats within the clans.
We do not have a limit as to how many characters you can have, that is up to your discretion. However, we do ask that you try not to take on too many for you to handle.
We are very flexible with naming, and only ban the prefix Star and prefixes in other languages. Words that are in the English language and would be possibly known to clan cats are mostly allowed, however if a name is too extreme, the staff reserves the right to ask that you change it.
Starclan and Dark Forest cats will only be available through slots that can be bought from the store.
We do not allow cats with Superpowers/Abilities/Chosen Ones/Prophecy cats etc.
Groups of Rogue cats are a sensitive issue. There is some free territory, but not much, so there shouldnt be too many non-clan cats and groups of cats. If you would like to form a group of cats bigger than six, you must pm the admins for permission.

Images
A recent controversy around the internet is the circulation of images that have not been credited; therefore, we will have something of a stricter policy. You may only use images of cats that are stock (such as from flickr and other stock sites), and any art must be credited to the artist AND permission must be had from them. To ensure this we ask that you link to the artist and the artwork, and credit the artist. If you wish to use a base, then you must link the maker of the base.
This precaution is mostly because of the fact that many artists will be frustrated (and rightly so) when they find their artwork distributed without their knowledge. Respect the artist and photographer, and don’t claim something as yours without permission.
