After years of living in harsh lands with little prey, fighting among each other constantly, the clans were shown a sign by the ancestors that guided them to journey far away from their old home. All five clans banded together in a temporary peace in order to complete the Great Journey, travelling for miles before finally arriving and settling down in their new territories.
To RapidClan, there were the marshes and rivers
To SmokeClan, the densest part of the forest
To DuskClan, the misted and darker reaches of the forest
To the Tribe of Storm Winds, the lighter parts of the forest
and finally to ThornClan, the pine forest and foothills of the nearby mountains
All seemed peaceful as they settled in, but it couldn't last.

ThornClan has attacked their neighbour SmokeClan to claim vital hunting territory, taking advantage of their lower numbers to drive home a crushing victory. They have secured their food supply for the winter, preventing the deaths of their kits and sick... But SmokeClan cats have been driven from much of their land and have only a small pocket of territory left to their names, how will they survive the winter?
The Tribe of Storm Winds has not fallen victim to ThornClan's ambitions, but must now grapple with the consequences of their inaction as SmokeClan refugees arrive on their doorstep, driven by hunger and desperation.
DuskClan is in chaos. Their leader Sootstar has been revealed to have been a fraud, not chosen by StarClan. The clan has split cleanly in two, with those who support Sootstar and those who don't clashing in a civil war. A new makeshift camp has been made by the Sootstar supporters.
Great tragedy has hit SmokeClan, with ThornClan driving their dwindling numbers out of most of their territory. Many have fled, either to other clans or away from the territories altogether. Those that remain stick close to their camp, the little territory that they have left. The weather is growing colder, and there is little hope on the horizon.
RapidClan sits pretty among it all, with a solid food supply and the greatest numbers of all the clans. They too have SmokeClan refugees at their borders. Will they accept them with open arms to share their plentiful food? Or will they reject them and leave them to starve as winter draws close?
